Hands-on workshop
Live Day Sydney
The neocloud, Terraformed: A bare metal lab for platform engineers
Platform teams manage cloud infrastructure as code, but bare metal has remained tied to procurement cycles and manual provisioning. Neo-cloud providers are changing that by bringing bare metal into code-driven workflows.
In this hands-on lab, attendees will use Terraform to provision a physical server in seconds—dedicated hardware spun up and torn down like any other Terraform resource. They’ll then prepare it to host virtual workloads, laying a foundation for virtualisation and migration work that once required weeks of on-prem lead time.
Attendees will leave understanding how bare metal fits into modern infrastructure, plus a reusable Terraform configuration. No bare metal experience is required; familiarity with Terraform or IaC will help, but newcomers can follow along.
